Anybody else out there love their college football team? Here in the south, you could say we are (for lack of a better word) fanatical.
Just look at Facebook today and you will see it. Everybody already giving their shout-outs for their team. Trying to claim early bragging rights or clinging to the coat tails of last year’s good season.
You know what I like about college football?
Motivation and inspiration!
OK, I have to admit, I like a good tailgate party too. But what I’m talking about here is not only what you see on the field but off as well.
People motivated to fork out big bucks to see their team play in person, inspired to wear their favorite player’s number, or at the very least, congregate with friends around the TV to spur their team to victory!
Is it contagious?
It seems so. The excitement of gameday seems to rub off on even the least-likely candidates. I have seen little old ladies waving tiny school flags and shouting at the top of their lungs for their quarterback to run, baby, run!
My point here is momentum will carry you.
When you don’t feel motivated. When you don’t feel inspired.
Use the energy of others!
It’s not always easy to keep yourself on the path to success. It’s not always easy to accept a defeat as a stepping stone. But the power of other people’s energy can keep your momentum flowing.
Just like college football.
The fans merge together in the same mindset. And it’s always to win. Even in defeat, their mindset is usually collectively, “just wait til next week.” You see, a true fan never gives up.
And neither should you!
College football is a way of life in my neck of the woods. Win or lose, it’s all about spirit. The spirit of the team. The spirit of the player. And the spirit of the fan.
Take that winning spirit, use the contagious energy of others, and your life will soar. Success is sure to follow!
Peace,
-Martha
