Do you have a community? A tribe?
I’m talking about people who support you. Loyalists. A fan base.
Is it needed, you ask? I think so. There is something to be said for having cheerleaders. People around you that spur you onward and upward. Not only does it make you feel good but it also helps you achieve higher, bigger, and stronger.
Your community or tribe can consist of your family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, any group that says they are glad you are “one of them”. And they tell others how great you are. And you hear about it and become even greater! It’s a chain.
In the business world, alot of hard work goes into “branding”. You know, making your product a household name. Think Coke. Or Microsoft. Don’t we all own at least one Hard Rock Cafe t-shirt?
We become part of that brand’s community. We tell others how much we like the product, tell them why, and encourage them to get it too.
So what is your brand? And I don’t mean cigarettes. What are the qualities you are best known for? The qualities that people tell others about? The reasons they include you in the tribe?
That is your brand. Yourself. What you represent to the world is your brand. Just like Nike, you want people to be drawn to you. So give them a reason. Be a one-of-a-kind. Original. Just be you!
Decide who you really are, represent yourself that way and watch your supporters grow. There’s nothing better than authenticism. Let your “brand” show.
And watch your community line up to buy the T-shirts!
Peace,
Martha
