I’ve already stated that I like Twitter.
And I’ve told you why.
Friday on Twitter is a little different bird. There is a game (for lack of a better word) played on Friday where you give a shout-out to people you follow and recommend others follow them too.
What is that? What does it all mean? Are we all just a bunch of followers?
I don’t really have the answers to those questions but I do have some observations.
Again, it’s all about who you follow.
Who are you following? In life, in business, in politics, in religion. . . I could go on and on.
It always matters who you follow.
Take note of who you are following. That person is your leader, your mentor, the one you emulate.
Even on Twitter. Even on Follow Friday.
OK, I know all this sounds a little too deep for twitter. After all, it’s just fun social networking and with the internet, you can network with the world I suppose.
But in the offline world and on Twitter, there are only a handful of people that you really are interested in following. The rest are just static. You wouldn’t spend your time trying to follow 10,000 people around in the offline world. And you can’t really listen to 10,000 people on twitter either.
So have fun with Twitter. I do. Use Follow Friday to recommend great people that you know. Folks that you really DO want to follow. And then go on with your life. Don’t get caught up in all the noise.
On Twitter, and in life, always follow the good leaders.
Soon, you will be followed too!
Peace,
Martha
