Oprah, Twitter, and You

by Martha on May 19, 2009

Oprah’s on Twitter.  I’m on Twitter.  Are you?

I  love Twitter!  It’s a great gathering place for social networking and also a simple way to promote your business.  And other people’s businesses.  It’s easy and quick.  Only 140 characters are allowed for your “tweet” so you get your message out concisely and don’t have time to bore folks.

Why is Oprah using it?  To “talk” to her fan base.  To enlarge her fan base (if that is even possible).  To be part of the tech-friendly world we live in. It is yet another way to “connect” with people on the planet.  At least, people who are also on Twitter!

Here’s what I like about Twitter:  I find people posting the most positive sentiments throughout the day.  They are quoting the greats.  Mother Theresa, Ben Franklin, Zig Ziglar, Martin Luther King, Tony Robbins, the list goes on and on.  I find it refreshing, interesting and motivating.

Now, be careful.  It CAN be addicting.  But, so can anything else.  Use it to receive positivity, promote your business, send out greetings, and gather relevant information.

I recommend Twitter for grabbing a quick motivational pick-me-up throughout the day.  It’s an avenue where you can give and receive a little sunshine everyday!

Try it.  You’ll like it.  Oprah does!

Peace,

Martha

Hi Martha,

Twitter rocks. It’s not where we met, but it is where we got to know each other.

How cool is that?

I think we should put the United Nations on hold, and just get them all twittering. That way, we all would start seeing each other as the real and amazing people we are.

Have a great day, keep doing what you do!

Your friend,

Twenty Twenty

You’re right about Twitter. It’s a great place to connect with others–just like you and I did. It’s a pleasure getting to know you.
